The DSP65-VME-8A1 board is an intelligent Carrier board that interfaces to the VME Bus. The 6U board holds up to eight (8) Daqpak IO modules which can be matched to the application I/O requirements.

All field I/O connections are made from the front of the board for easier installation. The board serves as an  interface for up to 128 analog or 192 digital I/O channels. An on-board ADSP-21065L processor provides  intelligent numerical real time data acquisition processing. This provides significant flexibility at the I/O level while increasing the free time available to the host CPU.

The combination of the VMEbus carrier card and Daqpak I/O modules provides a complete high density I/O subsystem which can be stand alone and independent of the software executing on the host if required.

All I/O values are updated automatically in dual port static RAM. The board provides synchronization, calibration and scaling for all Daqpaks on the board and allows the host CPU to perform normal data acquisition and control functions by simply reading or writing to the dual port static RAM VME interface. Multiple DSP65-VME-8A boards can be used to increase total system I/O capacity with virtually no host CPU overhead.
